Since talent quality is a strategic imperative in the war for talent, building vs. buying talent has become the favored practical option. It costs roughly 1/30th the amount of time and money to develop an excellent person as opposed to hire someone new. As a result, coaching capabilities have emerged as a manager’s primary role.
